This edition of our Milkshake Double IPA was brewed with vanilla sugar, an extra dose of real vanilla beans, and lactose, producing a dreamy dessert-like experience for your palate. VANILLA SUPERDOME tastes and smells like orange julius, gently melting vanilla bean ice cream, and a shortbread cookie bakery at dawn.

16oz can from Tavour. Hazy golden pour, thin creamy white head. Aroma is vanilla with some supporting citrus. Grapefruit peel notes pick up in the taste, tangy, zesty, then a lot of sweet vanilla. Citrus zest with a smidge of bitterness at the finish.

16oz undated can from late summer.
Pours clear gold with a chill haze. Straight up vanilla sherbert in the nose with no hops. Medium bodied with creamy, soft mouthfeel. Vanilla on the palate with not much else. Finishes sweet with lingering vanilla. Definitely mislabeled as an IPA.

Can from Jeff, thanks for the hookup.
Hazy lemony yellow color with a thin tightly bubbled white head that persists. Huge vanilla aroma and flavor with a light sugary sweetness. Maybe some fruit from the hops and bread from the malt but this is all pastry.

Poured into a 13 oz Long Trail Limbo Snulip glass canned on 5/17/19. Pours a rather hazy dark yellow, with a solid finger plus sticky white head that leaves a thick collar of foam around the sides of the glass. 4.25
Smell immediately vanilla, peach, apricot, and mandarin orange. 4
Taste follows but bolder and more aggressive vanilla, apricot, hints of peach, and finishes with some mandarin orange. 4
Mouthfeel is bigger than most, soft gentle carbonation, a tad sticky but not really dry, and at 9% ABV very drinkable. 4.25
Overall this is another excellent brew from these guys, not as good as others in the Dome Series, but still very nice. 4

Poured from a 16 oz can into a tulip glass.
Pours a hazy golden orange color with a finger of creamy white head. The head leaves a nice ring of lacing before settling into a thin sheet.
The aroma brings notes of vanilla, sugar cookies, orange sorbet, and pine on the back end.
The flavor brings notes of orange cream and vanilla, with a hint of pine on the finish. Very simple, but comes exactly as advertised.
The feel is medium bodied with soft carbonation. Very creamy. The alcohol is well-hidden.
Overall, a pretty good "milkshake" DIPA. The vanilla is definitely present, but the flavor never becomes too sweet. It's not a complex beer by any means, but as I said it comes exactly as advertised on the can. You know what you're getting.

A: Pours a hazy yellow-orange color with 2 fingers of head that fades down to a nice cap that leaves good lacing
S: Lots of vanilla and citrus up front along with some lactose and light pine
T: Follows the nose. Vanilla hits heavy first, followed by the citrus, lactose, and light pine. Vanilla sweetness slowly fades to the back, allowing the bitterness to come through a little. Finishes with lingering vanilla, lactose, and citrus
M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. On the smooth side
O: A nice amped-up version of the straight vanilla dome. Very vanilla forward, but still remains decently balanced. Definitely a dessert DIPA
