Definitive Brewing Company IPA American
Notes:
Hazy gold, super sticky, white sea foam cover.
Lychee melon and lime scent in the hops. Spicy cantaloupe taste, smooth and thin body seems like an easy drinking, medium level complexity style IPA. Golden haze with lightly malted golden grains keeps it easy and light. Hops are green, yet a bit spicy.

The only music immediately accompanying this tasting was the crack of opening a pint can. Following was the equally pleasurable sounds of beer being poured from a pint can into a clear Imperial pint glass. Once those lovely sounds expired, there was the visual. A nice modest off-white head rests comfortably on top of an orange-amber liquid. It's opaque, but not murky. There's not much for the nose, but what's there is reminiscent of tropical fruit that's not citrus. The taste is relatively mild for this category. Missing is any hoppy bite. The body is fine, providing a solid backbone that could carry much more hoppy bitterness to a good balance, but the hopping just doesn't do its part. It's earthy, maybe that's what blunts the hop bite. It's an easy drinking, but somewhat dull for the category, DDHIPA. Not bad at all, but not one to necessarily seek out.

A: The beer is hazy and a bit pale yellow in color. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that quickly settled down, leaving a minuscule collar around the edge of the glass and lots of lacing down the sides.
S: Light to moderate aromas of lime, orange citrus, and stone fruit are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell but has stronger flavors of stone fruit along with additional notes of lychee. Little to no bitterness is perceptible.
M: It feels medium-bodied and a bit juicy on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This IPA is easy to drink and has a good amount of flavors in the taste.

Like this one, and looking forward to seeing more Definitive brews in my neighborhood. Concert Mode is mildly creamy, semi aggressive for an NEIPA with some resin bitterness not found by many others. Hits all the citrus family notes, with pith and pine. Certainly worth a try if you come across it.

Can from Jeff, thanks for the hookup!
Hazy lemon yellow with a tightly bubbled white head that recedes. Lemon citrus earth fruit with a decent bready malt backbone.

16oz can dated 8/19/20.
Pours cloudy yellow with a thick, full head of white. Great retention with plenty of tattered lacework. Pithy citrus in the nose. Grapefruit, tangerine, and white grape. Medium bodied with a tacky, soft mouthfeel. Plenty of ripe citrus on the palate with a medium bitterness and zero malt. Finishes dry and a bit chalky with lingering citrus pith.
