On-tap 2/28/2016 at Pour Farm Tavern in New Bedford, MA, served in a US tumbler pint glass.

A: The beer is a deep gold color, with a large dense off-white head that fades slowly and leaves a very thick lace on the glass.

S: The aroma is faint but contains grassy hops, caramelized malts and some citrus.

T: The taste starts out bready with a hearty malt character. Then a strong but not over-powering piney hops bitterness comes in. There is some citrus and caramel sweetness that brings some balance. The after-taste is slightly hoppy.

M: Crisp and a little smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.

O: A little tasty, goes down ok, not too filling, good kick, good representation of style, this is a decent IPA to drink for a while.

Pint on draft at Freestones in New Bedford, Mass.

Appearance: Clear orange/copper with a film of white head. Some sticky lacing.

Aroma: Some pine, citrus and hops.

Taste: Very nice IPA. Sticky, hoppy, citrusy and piney. Hits all the notes. Nice hop bite and dry finish.

Mouthfeel: Spot-on. Perfect burger beer.

Overall: Good stuff. Not a "huge" IPA, but a damn tasty one.

Got "Chapters" 1-4 for xmas. Poured from a 22oz bottles into a maine beer pint.

Pours a perfectly clear golden orange, half inch of foamy white head with good retention, decent amount of lacing, defnitely on the dark side for and ipa. I really like idea of printing a chapter of a story on each bottle. More malt aroma than hops to be honest, bready, slight piney and grassy notes but i have to search for them. Taste is bitter and bready. Feels like an ipa made with no late hop additions or dry hop. Body and carbonation are pretty spot on for a double ipa. Not a fan of this one at all. Probably one of the worst beers of this style i've had, just bitter and malt.Very one dimensional.
