This beer is no longer brewed-- but I was lucky enough to try this. I stopped by the brewery and they had a keg on tap.
Pours a copper-amber color. Suprisingly nice thick head that slowly simmers to a thin lacing over the beer
Smells pretty good. Very malty-- with slight background smells of hops. I can also smell a slight wine-y taste. Maybe because the keg was chilling for another 4 months or so? I could be wrong.
Tastes outstanding. I love fall beers-- and to be lucky enough to get one in the dead of winter is pretty cool. This tastes alot more like a Marzen/Oktoberfest beer and i was almost tempted to list it as one-- But the website and the name of the beer states that it's a bock. Delicious aged malt flavor definitely hints at its bockness-- but the hints of hops shows me it's marzen characteristics. Love it.
Mouthfeel is good-- surprisingly carbonated for an older beer.
Drinkability is awesome-- harvest beers should always be strong in alcohol but nice and easy to drink and this one nails it.
