C: copper red/brown. Crystal clear. two finger head that dissipates in about 2-3 minutes. Effervesecence subsides quickly. Leaves a small amount of lacing on the glass.

S: Rich malty aroma with considerable biscuity flavor with a slight nutty nuance. Hop aroma is mild with a pleasant pefume like aroma

T: Strong initial presence of the malt character. Light caramel and soft pear flavor with an ever so slight hint of toast. Smooth with little to negligible hop presence.

M: Smooth mouthfeel the presence of the high alcohol content is immediately noticeable the way the rich taste seems thinner than its flavor would suggest¬¬, beer seems to be a bit on the flat side, but not terribly so.

D: Overall a smooth, easy-drinking bock. Very true to style IMHO I would definitely have another next time I'm in Massachusetts. One of the best bocks I've tasted

New release from Just Beer. Picked up a growler of the stuff the day it was released. I was told they will start bottling this next week.

a: deep dark copper color, crystal clear with a nice two plus finger head. foam sticks to the sides of the dimple mug for quite some time. looks nice.

s: very malty nose with a nice hint of floral hops. caramel malts give a nice sweet and bready aroma and the hops add another dimension to the nose. good.

t: full bodied malt flavor on this one, but with a subtly floral hop backbone. i love the proportion of malts on this bock, and the dry hopping certainly added much to the finish. 7.8% is dangerously well hidden. great stuff.

m&d: smooth mouthfeel; outstanding drinkability

The brewer had some extra X Bock leftover, and instead of bottling more they decided to dry hop the batch. The results are a solid malty bock with a nice subtle kick of hops. I'll definitely be picking this up on a regular basis until they run out. quite a good deal @ 19.99 a case of 22oz bombers!
