Bottle courtesy of TheManiacalOne, thanks again'
Pours a bright and clear brown color with a faint white head.
Aromas are nutty, oaky, earthy, and bready.
Taste is clean and simple with some roasted nuts, oak and creamy malts. Finish is crisp, with light mineral hops.
Mouthfeel is good, smooth full, and nicely carbonated.
Drinkability is also good. This is a simple, yet tasty brown ale.

Poured from a 22oz bottle into a US tumbler pint glass.
A: The beer is a light coppery brown color, with a thin off-white head that fades quickly and leaves a thin lace on the glass.
S: The aroma contains caramelized malts, maple, nuts and a faint touch of hops.
T: The taste starts out bready with a hearty malt character and flavors of roasted nuts up front that are quickly followed by mildly sweet flavors of caramel, honey and maple. The hops presence is mild but complementary and provides some balance. The after-taste is slightly sweet.
M: Smooth and crisp, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.
D: Tasty, goes down easily, not too filling, decent kick, good representation of style, this is a solid beer worth drinking for a while if you're in the mood for the style.

22oz. bottle served in a standard pint. Poured a translucent mahogany with a thin, off-white, loose head that quickly dispersed into a skim and a thin band around the edges. No lacing on this one. Nose is slightly earthy, some aromatic hops and a trace of caramel malt and a light coffee character. Taste follows nose - a slight hops bittering appears after the initial carbonation blast subsides, followed by a light caramel sweetness, earthy coffee grounds and finishing with a mild bitterness. Mouthfeel is light-bodied with a very assertive, almost prickly carbonation. A solid American Brown - perhaps a little too much carbonation to allow the flavor profile to come together; however, quite a respectable example of the style.

Glad to see that Just Beer finally put out Big Mamie. I enjoyed it's counterpart Flip Flop Summer Ale, so I figured I'd enjoy this as well.
a: poured into a Buzzards Bay Brewing Company pint glass (RIP BBBC). pours a 1-2 finger tan head that simmers a bit quicker than I hoped. Not flat by any means, but i like a nice layer of foam on my brown ales. great rusty bronze color though.
s: big malty aroma. notes of nuts, toffee, peanut butter. little to no hop aroma.
t: deliciously malty flavor. excellent use of malts (they used 7). diacetyl flavor is prominent, but very pleasant. aforementioned notes of nuts, toffee/peanut butter are back. i like the addition of oats...a grain brewers don't use enough of in my opinion. a bit hoppier than i expected (for a brown ale), but i like the character it gave it. plus, i'm sure that will dissipate quickly with time.
m&d: slick mouthfeel; drinkability is great (aren't all of Just Beer's brews?)
a very good brown ale. definitely worth a shot and well worth the $15 case o' bombers.
