Pours a caramel hue with loose head that disperses into a clumpy slick. Nose is subdued - malt upfront, primarily biscuit with a touch of caramel. There's also a hint of citrus and pine. Taste expresses citrus and pine in the foreground; somewhat akin to a household cleaner but not necessarily in a bad way. Cracker malts are in the background of the flavor profile. Mouthfeel is light-medium in body (but closer to light) with a mild, even carbonation. Overall, a bit dull without much of a hops presence.

This is a slightly hazy caramel colored beer with very light head. The nose leans to a lager for me - not very interesting.

This is advertised as a bitter IPA and although it does deliver in bitterness, the flavor strays far too much from an IPA for me. It tastes more like an India red ale to me with the only IPA characteristic being a brief hoppy tinged hint on the tongue initially.

It comes off a bit flat midway and is missing the typical IPA hoppiness, not sure if I got a bad bottle but this is a less than average brew by my standards.

I love the label which is what caught my eye but the flavor is forgetful...

L - Golden and hazy.

S - Floral with tons of fresh hop notes.

T - As it states, bitter. I was looking for a bitter beer for tonight. Fits the bill.

F - Good carbonation. Doesn't linger.

O - Solid beer. Picked up 22oz for $4. I was looking for something bitter and it didn't let me down. Worth every bit of $4.

Bottling mark of Sept. '15

Appearance - Pours hazy and rusty orange with a sandstone colored 2-finger head. Decent retention before revealing a thin, broken layer of suds and a thin ring around the edge of the glass. Not much for lacing, save a few random spots around the glass.

Smell - Floral with a touch of orange and a prominent bready sweetness.

Taste - A lot more earthy bitterness than the nose lead on. Woody and grassy with light floral character. Mild citrus. Malts hint of bread, but they are overwhelmed by the hop aggressiveness. Once warm it reveals grapefruit pith and a hint of caramel in the finish. Lingering bitter aftertaste.

Mouthfeel - Medium to full in body with average carbonation.

Overall - Seeing the other reviews and I'm not understanding the love for this. I'm all for unique hop profiles, but if tastes like a dusty tree branch fell into the vat, it might be time to tweak the recipe a bit.

Poured from a 22oz option into a speiglau glass.

Amber with gold highlights with a thick head.

Strong malt aroma with light grassy hop notes at the end.

Medicinal hop taste very herbal and intensely bitter. Excellent malt back bone to the hops. Wish I was eating something spicy with this.

Got in a BIF from ZebraCakez. 22 ounce bottle into signature pint glass, no bottle dating. Pours slightly hazy golden orange color with a 2 finger dense and rocky off white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass. Aromas of grapefruit, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, light caramel, toasted bread, herbal, floral, grass, herbal/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/earthy hops and moderate bready malt notes; with good strength. Taste of grapefruit, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, light caramel, toasted bread, herbal, floral, grass, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Good amount of pine/grassy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, light caramel, toasted bread, and herbal/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice robustness and balance of citrus/earthy hops and moderate bready malt sweetness; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, fairly crisp/sticky, and slightly bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice IPA. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/earthy hops and moderate bready malt balance; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A spot on east coast style IPA, very enjoyable.

The beer pours a very frothy and creamy white head that dissipates quickly but leaves quite a bit of lacing. The beer itself is a transparent copper with a slight orange and brown tinge. The beer smell has strong roasted malt notes and light floral hop smell with a bit of orange notes. The taste is similar to the smell. The malt backbone is fairly strong and toasted while the hop notes are light and bitter. The mouthfeel is very smooth with biting carbonation. Overall, a fairly good IPA and worth getting.

22 oz bottle. no date. that's quite the simple label.

pours a hazy orange color, with big rocky white head. lacing clings to the glass, great head retention. smell is hoppy, but not very strong. pleasant citrus and earthy aromas. taste has just enough biscuity malt to support the nice hop flavor. slightly bitter finish. medium body and carbonation. drinks nice.

A yellow-tinted head comes to rest on a thick but bright medium orange beer. It's a heavy, fluffy and pillowy head that begins at two fingers and drops slowly to a thick, creamy half finger that never falls further. Lacing begins at the very top in patches with some webbing and continues almost to the bottom.
The hops bouquet is fairly aromatic, mostly pine and citrus but with a floral aspect as well. A note of fruits of the juicier variety is also here.
Hops are potent without being astringent, hard without harshness. There's a hit of pine, citrus rind and flora with an earthier middle and a certain minerality.
The feel is fluffy but it could stand to have more crispness, It is smooth, though. the medium body falls off just a hint at the end of the sip.

Had on tap at the Bayside.
Is it supposed to be hazy? Maybe it's unfiltered? So it's amber but hazy.
I loved the aroma! Seriously awesome hops. Mostly floral and citrus.
Tasted superb. Not too sweet but finishes dry.
Love this IPA! Wish I could find it at home!

Poured from a 650 ml bottle into a footed tulip.

A: Dark golden hue. Pours a 1 finger, foamy, white head. Settles slowly. Thick lacing.

S: Hops, grapefruit, orange, honey, and clove.

T: Crisp hop character, very papery. Bitter pecan shells.

M: Light body, very crisp. Very bitter aftertaste. Something of a shallow feel. Has a kind of weird indistinct sweetness in the finish.

D: Sip and enjoy.

Atmosphere is pretty good. Really nice head, and plenty of lacing. Nose is combination of hops, fruit, and spice. Hoppy, shallow, and bitter. Overall, this is a pretty good quaff.

A: Pours a slightly hazy apricot in color with light to moderate amounts of gentle carbonation and some orange highlights. The beer has a one finger tall sudsy foamy off-white head that reduces to a couple of medium sized patch of thick film made up of larger bubbles, a very thin film covering the entire remainder of the surface of the beer, and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate to significant amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate to strong aromas of citrus/grapefruit and tropical/mango/passionfruit hops with a lighter note of caramel malts.

T: Upfront there are light to moderate flavors of caramel malts with just a touch of sweetness followed by moderate to strong flavors of hops - tropical/mango/passionfruit and citrus/grapefruit stand out. Lighter notes of herbal hops come out as the beer warms up. Light to moderate amounts of lingering bitterness.

M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Pretty crisp.

O: This beer is easy to drink with the lighter body but it still has the flavors and aromas I generally associate with a DIPA. I really like the tropical fruit notes from the hops.

A: The beer is slightly hazy yellowish orange in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a finger high bright white head that has good retention properties and consistently left a thin head covering the surface, a collar around the edge of the glass and lots of lacing down the sides.
S: Moderately strong aromas of tropical fruits are present in the nose along with some hints of citrus.
T: The flavors in the taste very much follow the aromas in the smell and have an emphasis on tropical fruits from the use of Zythos hops. Hints of herbal hops are also noticeable towards the finish. There is a moderate amount of bitterness.
M: It feels medium-bodied and rather crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I found this beer to be enjoyable because the aromas and flavors of hops rivaled that of an Imperial IPA but it was still rather easy to drink.

On-tap 4/26/2013 at Track 84 in Warwick, RI, served in a US tumbler pint glass.

A: The beer is a light golden brown color, with a short off-white head that fades slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains floral hops, caramelized malts and some citrus.

T: The taste starts with a strong but not over-powering hops presence. Then a hearty malt character comes in along with some caramel and citrus sweetness creating a good balance. The after-taste is slightly hoppy and slightly sweet.

M: Crisp and smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is clean.

O: Tasty, goes down very easily, not too filling, good kick, good representation of style, this is a very solid IPA worth drinking for a long time.

From the coast of Buzzards Bay in Massachusetts a delicious IPA has found its way to the banks of the Ohio River... in Ohio, of course. A great smell of hops pours from the bomber with an equally tasty experience from beginning to end. The hops are bold but balanced with the full flavor of this IPA that will keep me reaching for another.

Fantastic IPA, not overkill on the Hops but a wonderful balance and a drinkability that kept me craving for more. I loved the crispness of the beer and I will be drinking this IPA through out this spring/summer. Bravo on this fantastic local beer.

Ps bottle looks awesome as well.

One of my favorite local IPA's, bright in color, delicious bitter hoppiness that isn't overrun by the malts! Alcohol is about 6.2ish, ibu 45ish, with amazing drink ability! It's is an IPA that ill be drinking all the way through summer and right into winter, good for all New England seasons.

this is my absolute favorite local IPA! it was poured for me at a tasting right off the tap-beautiful copper/amber color, good head, and the hoppy aroma was detected almost immediately. Definite bitter IPA taste that "hopheads" will love, but also very easy to drink.
