King's Road Brewery "(We) Beat New England IPA"
$6/10 fl. oz on tap at the brewery on 3/22/18
Notes: It just occurred to me that this might have just been called "Beat New England IPA" until the Eagles actually won the Super Bowl (sorry, copyright infringement, I meant "big game") when it may have been changed to "(We) Beat New England IPA". Regardless, it's a very nicely done New England style IPA done in the juicy vein. It's golden in color with a little bit of haze beneath a short head of bright white foam. The aroma is hoppy/juicy with citrus (mainly orange) and a bit of pungent "dankness". The flavor follows with a sweetish golden malt base that's simple and allows the hops to come through. A moderate bitterness balances it and there's a touch of hop "burn" that helps as well. Medium-light in body and gently crisp and then smooth. It's not the juiciest NEIPA but it's one of the best in the local area, beating out some of the larger packaging brewers - not bad for a nano brewery!
