Transpire is our very full & complex Rye Porter brewed with copious amounts of malted rye, caramel rye, chocolate rye & biscuit malts. Transpire has an insanely silky & chewy mouthfeel thanks to the huge portions of rye with just enough hop bite to cut through & balance out the beer. With prominent notes of toasted rye bread drizzled with decadent chocolate & caramel syrup, Transpire is perfect for the chilly evenings & crisp weekend mornings now upon us.

On draught in the brewery tap room.
Aroma is of roasted barley, a little smokey.
Flavor is the same, roasted, hints of mild charred wood, dark chocolate, cacao nibs, dark roasted coffee beans, smooth. Nice mouthfeel.
Enjoyably dry and bitter, and a little tangy on the finish.

This one came across a little too roasty/ashy for me. Rye Porter.

16 ounce can poured into a nonic style pint glass.
Canned 12/6/22
L: Clear dark brown, 2 finger beige head, loose foam with moderate retention.
S: Roasted malts, cola caramel, notes of coffee and dark maple syrup.
T: Assertively bitter and roasty, very low sweetness, dry-ish, woody hops, green hop flavor at the finish.
F: Light body, medium carbonation, carb bite in the middle, becomes somewhat creamy later in the glass.
O: Good Porter, more of an old fashioned style, nothing fancy, the rye didn’t come through for me in the nose or taste.

Appearance: Pours coffee colored with a rather thin beige head; decent persistence with splashy lacing
Smell: Toasted rye bread with a roasty blend of nuts and chocolate
Taste: Toasted rye bread forward with the roasted nuts and chocolate emerging underneath; the spicy rye character dominates from start to finish along with some coffee tones that are revealed in the middle; as the beer warms, a hint of caramel emerges, as well
Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with moderate carbonation
Overall: Quite a unique twist on a porter; worth seeking out

Poured from a can into a pint glass.
Appearance: With an aggressive pour, has a big off-white head with moderate persistence. Body is dark brown that becomes deep blood red and semitransparent when held up to light.
Smell: Traditional brown porter aromas of dark toast, nuts, and dark chocolate. Some rye spice, little bit of grassy hops.
Taste: Follows the nose. Bitter. Needs more sweetness to balance, but the dark rye flavor is good. Appropriate amount of grassy hops on the finish.
Feel: Light-medium body, light-medium carb. Slightly dry finish.

Dark brown, garnet at the edges, tan head, retention isn't great, spotty lace
Toasted rye and cocoa aroma
Dry toast, earthy, spicy, chocolaty
Medium bodied, oily and slick, good carbonation
Interesting, I like it, but a bit too pricy to become a regular for the season

A brace of draught pints (accompanying a VERY hearty bowl of chill con carne) at Wet City in Baltimore.
I'm quite partial to porters in general, and the Key "Rye Porter" in particular. So when I had the opportunity to try another rye porter (A Maryland thing?), I was definitely intrigued.
NO head, and almost NO lacing. Nice color. Limited rye on either nose or tongue. Smooth.
12 OCT19 - Tried a draught 12oz snifter of a (bourbon? - Why NOT rye?) barrel-aged variant, also at Wet City. I prefered the "base" porter.
