16oz can purchased from the fridge as a single for $5.62 plus tax. I'm not sure when this was canned so I will have to estimate based on Instagram posts. It looks like this was released on August 15, so it's just over 10 weeks old.

Look: Light to moderate haze with a thick, fluffy white head. The color is a very pale orange color. It would probably look more golden colored if it wasn't for the haze.

Smell: Huge grapefruit juice aroma. While it smells juicy, it doesn't really smell sweet. Lots of aromatic, citrus oil type notes along with some of that classic Nelson Sauvin funkiness. It almost has like a Fresca kind of nose without the sweetness. I also get some earthiness and green bell pepper notes on the finish. It smells really delicious. After adding the hazier bottom part of the can, I got some subtle pineapple notes.

Taste: It's really tasty. This is basically what I was expecting from the nose. Up front, it has bright citrus notes with tons of grapefruit kissed with lemon. The finish is dry with tons of grapefruit zest and pith along with a bit of mandarin orange peel. The finish is very bitter and lingers long. All this being said, the beer is surprisingly clean for a hazy IPA. The beer did lose some of its cleanliness after I added the bottom of the can, but then again it also gained complexity and some juiciness which helped the overall experience and depth of flavor.

Feel: It's relatively light. It's hard for me to tell that this is a 7% Hazy IPA. The carbonation is soft and the appropriate level. There's a slight oily mouthfeel with all of the citrus notes here. The mouthfeel did gain in body after adding the hazier bottom part of the can. After that, I would upgrade it to medium bodied.

Overall: Unlike the description, this version of Celestial Brume is made with Galaxy and Nelson Sauvin instead of Galaxy and Comet. I'm a big fan of Nelson Sauvin, and Elder Pine has been using it well based on my recent experience from some of their other offerings. The can says that the grist is comprised of pale, wheat, oats, and dextrin malt. It's an interesting and I really like it. If I didn't know the ingredients I probably would have guessed that this was a Citra-hopped beer and not hopped with Galaxy and Nelson Sauvin. I think that after I poured the rest of the can and the beer became hazier, it also gained some complexity and depth of flavor.

Structured around our BRUME series of IPAs, Celestial Brume boasts a soft mouthfeel from tons of wheat & oats and is loaded to the brim with Galaxy & Nelson Sauvin hops. We detect impressions of passion fruit, lychee, summer melon, hop candy, and bright citrus zest.

Undated can into pint glass. Pours a murky gold with a thin off-white head. Nice lacing. Initial impression is pine resin, citrus rind, dank grapefruit, and a bit of grassiness. Mouthfeel is medium-thick and slightly astringent. Finish is bitter. Overall, a bitter hop bomb that just doesn't do it for me.
