Our "Noble Contessa" Pale Lager aged in our oak lagering foeder for 3 months. Hopped & dry-hopped exclusively with Contessa, a brand new American hop that showcases European "noble hop" characteristics. Very reminiscent of a dry-hopped European Lager with a distinct American flair. Light notes of green tea, pear and soft oak.

Excellent pale yellow body, sharp and clear; lively, fine-bubble carbonation; thick, foamy, white head, persistent and somewhat sticky. Pleasant scent; mild esters with a touch of gentle malt. Light and agreeable flavor; very light touch of malt; cryptic esters; mild to moderate hop bitterness; a bit of white oak in the background; clean tasting. Light mouthfeel; gently soft with a feathery touch of residual sugar; a nice mix of light sweetness with lean towards a light dryness at the finish.
A nice looking beer that started out slightly over-carbonated, it redeemed itself with a lasting good look with a soft, sticky and billowy head. The smell and taste factors were pleasing and not overly dominant. This is a very refreshing and drinkable beer.
Poured at 45 °F; no canning date noted.

A: The beer is almost clear yellow in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a half finger high bright white head that died down a bit but consistently left a short head covering the surface and lots of lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of oak are present in the nose along with hints of green tea and pear.
T: The taste is nearly a mirror image to the smell and has a light amount of bitterness.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and clean on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I found the aromas and flavors imparted by the Contessa hops to be very interesting.
