72% - Black Lager aged in whiskey barrels for 20 months
18% - Baltic Porter aged in whiskey barrels for 23 months
10% - Amber Lager aged in whiskey barrels for 20 months
After aging, we blended all of these barrels into a stainless steel tank for an additional 4 weeks of lagering at 33°F. Through Woven Branches beautifully showcases warm American oak, chocolate covered caramel, lightly roasted malts and traces of whiskey.

16 ounce can into a pilsner glass. Had 12/8/21.
Pours near black and opaque, with a half inch foamy head and some slick, tight, foamy lacing. Aromas of chocolate, oak, roasted malt, light whiskey, a little licorice, a touch of smoke, caramel as it warms. Smells herbal. Flavors are similar- malt, chocolate, oak, some caramel, light whiskey. Has a bit of an herbal flavor, faint hop bitterness on the finish. Smooth, a very good lighter body, appropriately carbonated.
This is malt driven overall, and the wood is prominent. Has a great aroma. Like this better than it rates- if that makes sense and appreciate the creativity that went into it.

My second beer from this brewery, another 16 oz. can with excellent art. I’ll wager that cool factor sells some beer off its native shelves.
The pour is dark – I’d guess “what is a porter” if you handed me this blind. The nose disabuses all of that notion. Almost entirely oak with a touch of what I think of as “LAGER YEAST” in the background.
Through Woven Branches doesn’t mesh. Oak. Oak. Oak. Like I fell asleep with sixteen toothpicks in my mouth. Malts, lager yeast, fig. Dry. Dry. Dry. I can’t get through this. Neither can my wife.
Admirable effort to brew something one doesn’t see hardly ever. Not sure if the execution was off but these tastes just don’t play nicely together. A for effort!

Dark opaque brown pour with two fingers of light brown foam. Smells of wood, earth, burnt caramel, big whiskey, and cocoa, very robust. Taste does not strike me as a lager, rather a strong ale with a robust and dark complexion that struggles with bitter balance: big whiskey, scorched earth, wood, cocoa, dried date, and a hint of underdone cola, but not artful rather heavy handed. Feel is part of that delivery, thick and boozy but finishes thinner, carb is so low, again very robust. Just wasn't for me, but definitely for a cold winter's night

What a fascinating beer. Dark black body, tan brown head. Really nice bourbon barrel presence, warming whiskey and a light chocolate fudge, a bit of coffee even. Bitter dark chocolate, bit of oak. Light medium in body, crisp, nice carbonation. Light smoke

A: The beer is jet black in color. It poured with a quarter finger high off white head that left a narrow collar around the edge and some lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of whiskey from the barrel aging are present in the nose.
T: The taste has flavors of dark malts and cola along with notes of whiskey from the barrel aging.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and clean on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: The whiskey barrel aging adds an extra dimension to this lager and definitely stands out in the smell.
Serving type: can

Black with tan head, ok retention, no lace
Smells like a whiskey barrel, slight hints of roast and dark fruit
Pretty much tastes like it smells. Too much oak
Medium-light bodied, not big enough to stand up to the wood. Appropriate carbonation
This beer would probably taste better if it had spent half the time in barrels
