Appearance - Pours a hazy gold with three fingers of frothy bubbly white head.
Smell - belgian yeast, coriander, clove, pear, citrus, orange peel, spicy earthy and floral hops, and spicy earthy yeast.
Taste - belgian yeast, coriander, clove, and pear upfront. The citrus, orange peel, and spicy earthy and floral hops come through next. The spicy earthy yeast finishes off the brew.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate to high carbonation. Finishes off dry with the belgian yeast, coriander, clove, and pear lingering.
Overall - A unique saison by added pear to it. This may not be up everyone's alley but this one is very refreshing and sessionable.

473ml can - pretty silly marketing angle, but I guess I'll allow it. Don't know if there is actually any pear used here.
This beer pours a clear, bright pale golden yellow colour, with three fingers of puffy, loosely foamy, and bubbly eggshell white head, which leaves some random crookedly webbed lace around the glass as things quickly proceed.
It smells of gritty and grainy cereal malt, some indistinct pome fruitiness, muddled earthy spice, a bit of estery yeastiness, and very subtle leafy, musty, and floral green hop bitters. The taste is grainy and crackery pale malt, some dirty-seeming spiciness, musty yeast, weak blended stone fruit, and more well-understated leafy, herbal, and floral hoppiness.
The carbonation is average in its palate-supportive frothiness, the body a decent medium weight, and essentially smooth, with nothing really going out of its way to cause any sort of concern at this particular point in the game. It finishes off-dry, with the malt and blended fruity essences showing the most lingering elan.
Overall - this comes across as a genial version of the style, yet falls short on its moniker's promise. The 'pear face' of this brew is ephemeral at best, so there's that bit of disappointment, but it does turn out to be pretty drinkable in the greater scheme of things.

Overall, a very approachable saison from Red Deer's newest brewery. This is extremely pale, almost yellow in colour, with a small white head that does its best to get the heck out of Dodge. All of the requisite farmhouse elements are in place - spice, clove, and vibrant carbonation. After a quick taster flight, this was the winner of my "you get to go home in a growler" contest.
