I haven't had anything like this in a long time. Big flavors, dark malt with a charred edge, and a hoppy finish. Aroma is dark malt and coffee. Tastes of roasted malt, then scorched grain. There may be some leafy, herbal hops but the aftertaste is very bitter. Overall this is um, interesting, but the inviting flavors are overpowered by bitter hops.
Pours a clear dark brown, not quite as dark as a Porter, with piles of sticky off-white foam in the tall. Faust Weizen glass. Purchased at Bine & Vine.

Thanks Danny. 16 ounce can pour it in a Beecher. No canning date, boo.
Pours a deep dark brown, fluffy head appears sandy in color, very tight minuscule bubbles, almost a delicate milk stout head. Initially foams up a good 2 inches then settles to a thin film after a couple minutes.
Nose is a combination of roasted malt, pine resin, and orange rind.
Flavor replicates the nose. The roasted malt is a bit earthy and the pine resin in orange dropped off a bit.
Mouth feel is slightly more than medium, like carbonation, and finishes with the earthy bitter.
Overall a decent representation of style, although it’s a style it doesn’t excite me very much.
