Brewed for brewery's 7th anniversary. This international stout is more than an anniversary beer: bold, dark, and smoother than a secret agent.

From a 16oz can purchased at the brewery. No date on the can.
This beer pours pitch black into the glass. There's no chance of anything shining through the glass. The head is quite thick. It started out mixing with the beer, but ended up as 2 finger and brown colored. The head retention is great, and some nice lacing on the glass
The nose is malty. I am getting a good roasted chocolate hit. I am getting notes of caramel and toffee. Slight coffee hint also shows up.
Taste - up front I am getting a huge coffee hit, and the bitterness from it lasts throughout the flavor profile. There's caramel, toffee, vanilla, and roasted chocolate notes that come into play with the flavor. The bitterness that the beer starts off with lingers and is quite pleasing. Hints of bourbon also take up the rear.
The beer is smooth. The feeling from the bitterness is smooth, if that makes sense. Very full bodied. There really isn't any burn.
Well, I have to say that I am impressed with this beer. Everything seems to work together well.
