Hazy, pale and smooth, dressed in black and gold…kind of like the friendly neighbourhood Goth. This New England style Pale Ale gets the job done with its juicy, pineapple, passionfruit, and citrus flavours.

Poured a 473ml can into a pint glass. A two finger bubbly white head on a dirty yellow. The head soon diminishes to a thin layer that stick around to the end. Lots of clingy lacing.
Tropical fruit in the nose. The taste follows the nose. Grapefruit, orange, pineapple. A very lightly bitter dry finish.
Very smooth. Medium light body and good carbonation. Overall a stand out Hazy Pale Ale. Well worth a try.

At my lady Pamela's house; canned and chilled, 473mL in a pint glass. From the Huron Church Rd. LCBO in nearby Windsor. Canned April 24/25. My 3rd beer from the Edmonton, Alberta brewery, and for 2025. Lovingly admired by Sundae the cat...

473 mL can from the LCBO; dated Apr 24 2025 and served slightly chilled. I lived in Edmonton for a few years circa 2010, and Sea Change would've been within walking distance of both my home and workplace. Unfortunately for me, this brewery opened its doors six years after I left. Pointless true fact.
Pours effervescent and lightly hazed, its golden-hued body capped with one finger of tight, foamy white head that holds itself together for no longer than three minutes. A frothy collar and thin cap are left behind, in addition to a full curtain of lovely lace - looks great so far, and it's also impressively aromatic. Pink grapefruit, passion fruit and lemon, with peach & pineapple also coming through.
A tasty pale ale with a fruity, hoppy flavour profile and low-moderate bitterness. Grapefruit, lemon peel and pineapple at the forefront, supported by hints of grainy malts and wheat; juicy nectarine and passion fruit flavours come forward later on. Mildly fruity aftertaste that trends off-dry. Light-medium in body, with lively carbonation that adds a firm bite to each sip; feels smooth going down. Crisp and extremely quaffable - a single can was completely insufficient!
Final Grade: 4.07, an A-. In practically every regard, The Wolf is a very solid New England Pale Ale - I would absolutely rank this in the vicinity of popular Ontario APAs such as GLB's Canuck Pale Ale or Collective Arts' Rhyme & Reason... maybe even slightly ahead. I generally prefer old school APAs over these NEPAs, but this is one of the best Canadian-made examples of the latter that I have lucked upon to date. A perfect pick for my 3888th review, and something I will continue buying if the LCBO continues to stock it.

473ml can poured into tulip.
Pours a cloudy yellow with three fingers of rocky white head that leaves some delicate gothic archway lace as it recedes.
Smells of orange, lemon and grapefruit peel, pineapple, nectarine and peach chunks, fresh bread, rainy stone pathway and piney hops.
Tastes of bready caramel malt, subdued citrus peel compared to the smell, more tropical and stone fruit character, wet stone and more pleasantly dank pine.
Feels deceptively light and frothy. Light bodied with fluffy carbonation. Finishes off dry.
Verdict: Recommended. A pretty good pale ale with a nice amount of East Coast haze.

Draft pour from Kelly’s Pub in Edmonton. Appropriate color, good head, with retention. Nice hazy IPA. Well balanced and smooth, not too juicy. Easy drinking.

Appearance - Pours a hazy peach with four fingers of frothy white head.
Smell - citrus and tropical hops, peach, nectarine, citrus and orange peel, hint of grapefruit, bready malts, and earthy yeast.
Taste - citrus and tropical hops upfront. The peach, nectarine, citrus and orange peel, and hint of grapefruit come through next. The bready malts and earthy yeast round out the brew.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes slightly sticky with the tropical hops and fruits lingering.
Overall - An easy drinking hazy pale ale. I wish the tropical fruits were a little more pronounced but other than that a nice crushable brew!

650ml bottle - apparently they are changing the recipe for this one soon, but whatevs.
This beer pours a murky, medium banana yellow colour, with three fingers of puffy, rocky, and creamy bone-white head, which leaves some decent scattered sudsy soapscum lace around the glass as it evenly subsides.
It smells of gritty and grainy cereal malt, a strong hard water flintiness, muddled domestic citrus rind, and some leafy, weedy, and dank piney green hop bitters. The taste is grainy and crackery pale malt, a still heady damp minerality, muted orange and white grapefruit rind, and more leafy, herbal and piney verdant hoppiness.
The carbonation is adequate in its palate-coating frothiness, the body a so-so middleweight, and mostly smooth, with nothing really getting in the way of a swell time at this particular juncture. It finishes trending dry, the grainy malt and mineral character predominating.
Overall - this is a generally well-made version of the style, the 'NEPA', with well water and local malt at the forefront. Crisp, and easy to put back as things start to appear to be more autumn-like the past few days (took my kid to Kindergarten orientation this morning, so, yeah). No biggies, but I'm not quite ready for pumpkin brew, if I ever was.
