Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing nearly opaque black in the glass with a half finger dark khaki head with great retention and nice lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, chocolate, molasses, dry caramel and mild toasted coconut. Flavor is sweet dark toasted malt, milk chocolate, caramel and coconut. Hints of coffee in the finish which is little drier. Medium to thick bodied, with rich creamy mouthfeel. Definitely a dessert stout as advertised. The thick body and caramel chocolate flavor gives the impression of a blended, sweet coffee drink, although the coffee notes are muted. A sweet, rich and thick late evening stout. Nicely done, but not for the sweet averse.
