Poured from the crowler into a nonic pint glass.
Thick cascading rich body that forms a good sized three finger tan head. Creamy and soapy in consistency, with swiss cheese bubbless and retention. A few stabs of clingy lace, on a very dark walnut brown, nearly black body color. Some clarity towards the head as well, fine looking stout.
Neat aroma. Whopper like candy malt, and a spicy touch of chocolate. Has faint like hints of chile and wonderful spice. Roast quality and a subtle sweetness abound all over. Good stuff so far.
Palate is very nice. Light bodied with a sense of touching milky cream. Easy drinking with porter like feel but richer flavors. Dark chocolate explodes with creamy vanilla and spicy notes of light cinnammon and clove without the burn. Finishes with excellent soft dark chocolate bitterness. Milky like touches (possibly milk stout?), but with excellent light hot finishes that cut through the sweetness and cream.
Great tasting beer, and at this nice abv so easily drinkable. Well done here.
