East Rock Brewing Co. "Raspberry Gose"
12 fl. oz. brown glass bottle without production codes or freshness dating
$1.83 @ Mo's Wine & Spirits, Fairfield, CT
Notes via stream of consciousness: It's a hazy pink-ruby in color beneath a light pink head of foam that drops rather quickly. The aroma is fruity with authentic raspberry and a touch of floral and woody character. There's also a little bit of a mineralish note to it. It's welcoming. The flavor follows and it's beautifully balanced between mild acidity and gentle sweetness from the malt. It has a very limited bitterness but it finishes dry with a delicate acidity and some salinity from the salt. The fruit is completely realistic and it's interesting, charming, and refreshing. This would make a fantastic summer beer as it's delightfully refreshing and quaffable. In the mouth it's medium bodied and lightly zesty with acidity and a soft, natural carbonation. Quite nice.
