Poured from a pink wax-topped 12 oz bottle into a Dogfish Head tulip
As per the brewery, "This strange brew wasn’t weird enough as a plain old smoked sour, we had to add cosmic elements of the unknown in the form of key lime puree and meco chipotles that leave a haunting reminder upon the imbibers palate. Reanimate your senses and drink beyond the wall of taste."
L: Hazed copper/amber pour with a finger of foamy white head. Falls fast... modest lacing.
S: Tart and lightly smoked. Citrusy.
T.F: Sweet/tart up front with lime and citrus. Some funk... and then followed by smoke and some heat from the chilis. None of the flavors are overwhelming, but all of them are very noticeable and distinct and the tingling/heat of the chilis on the aftertaste is rather pleasant. Medium bodied... sticky on the tongue and again... definite spice at the finish.
O: A very unique little offering, and I like that the lime, smoke, and chilis are all represented. Not one I'd want everyday but a very cool beer.
