Poured from a blue-wax topped bomber into a Dogfish Head tulip
L: Dark, dark mahogany brown pour. Nearly black with a finger of foamy tannish head.
S: Vinous and roasty. Red wine and oak.
T.F: Semi-sweet roasted grains and red wine. Strong Merlot character... it really picked up the barrel nicely. Vinous... pepper and faint dark chocolate. Leather and fruit. Medium bodied.... soft carbonation. Better as it warms.
O: A very well-executed red-wine barrel aged stout. Great flavor and drinkability. Hides its 11% heft nicely. Definitely a winner from Shy Bear.
