Roast malts and black coffee aromas swirl. It looks like the tide is going home. Espresso and baking chocolate mingle with a light hop spice. Gonna wash my bones in the Atlantic shore. This beer is brewed only for you and me.

On tap at the brewpub earlier this evening.
Black body, off white/tan head, rings of lacing. Excellent aroma of fresh coffee bean, consistent with all SB coffee stouts. On tasting, the coffee flavor dominates, in a good way. Finish is clean and coffee, body is barely medium.
Overall, another very good coffee stout from Shy Bear. I question the listing here as an Irish Dry Stout.

Sampling a cellar temp 16 oz can poured into my snifter. Picked up during Christmas in PA. No date stamp on the label or can.
the beer pours a dark black coffee color and no light passes through my glass. A dense creamy tan head foams up about 2 cm and fades to a thin edge layer and a few wispy islands.
Aroma is dry bakers chocolate and some slightly burnt coffee mixing with just a little brown sugar. No hint of any hop character on the nose. Malt forward nose, but definitely not sweet.
First sip reveals a medium body with smooth texture and fine tingly carbonation. Easy drinking physical traits on this beer.
Flavor is similar to the nose, bakers chocolate and roasted malt with hints of char or burnt coffee. There is a little bit of sweeter chocolate too, but sort of hot cocoa powder. Hops arent present on the flavor profile either.
This isnt an overly complex beer, but its easy to drink and hits the right notes. Im glad to have tried this one, and would drink this beer again.
