Jalapeño Red Tail

Pours a pretty flat deep burgundy with clear translucency. No head formation. Aroma is sour and tangy, with notes of raspberry, cherries, and a sliver of jalapeno at the back. A touch of stone and straw add some base. Flavor profile pounces on the tongue, driving immediate sour notes with a somewhat sharp acidity. Raspberry and cherries lead for the profile, with jalapeno adding a little zesty, spicy kick at the end. Spice is not quite to heartburn territory. It has a strong pucker factor with the initial acidity and sourness that breaks away to reveal spiciness. Mouth feel is medium in thickness with a flat texture. Overall, intriguing and some how it does work together. The sourness may be a touch strong, but this is labeled as a "red sour."
