On tap at the tavern. Served in a pint glass.
Appearance: Dark brown, like a rich tea. Several fingers of head that is foamy and thick, mounding as it recedes.
Smell: Sweet. Dark wood; oak. Toasted chestnuts.
Taste: Very woody, nutty. Notes of toffee, toasted bagel, pipe smoke. Mild bitterness in the finish.
Mouthfeel: Very smooth, creamy finish. Almost Guinness-like.
Overall: A brown ale well executed. My favorite offering from this brewery.
