i guess i didnt realize that we do not have a shandy/radler category here on BA, should probably be added. not that i can tell this ever had lager in it, fits just fine under the generic fruit beer listing i suppose. this is pure orange juice and its really good, even better than anticipated although perhaps fruited to the point of not even really being beer, thats okay, the fruit is good, this feels healthy, maybe even kept me from getting sick when most of the rest of my family was, and the packaging is super cool! these guys are pushing some boundaries while still yielding fun and drinkable brews. thick and orange from the skinny can, looks like orange juice with pulp, and smells like it too, almost a mimosa vibe with a hint of white wine coming in from somewhere, maybe a yeast note, but really very little grain despite this being obviously a little thicker. the orange is sweet and acidic at the same time, definitely the real deal. the flavor is straight juice too, love the honest flavor of the oranges in this, unique from navel orange which is cool. sweet and tangy, thick the whole way, i can taste almost no malt or yeast or hops, but i guess there is beer in here somewhere. its not really carbonated much either, too dense for that. seriously its almost like a can of orange juice. too heavy in feel to be refreshing like i look for in the style, but i think thats my only real knock against an otherwise tasty and healthful can of orange juice! looks like they do a number of fruited variants of this, would love to track some others down...
