from 4-pack picked up at the Mountainview Co-op in Helena, MT; first experience w/ Julius Lehrkind
16oz aluminum bottle poured into a Monkless tulip

P clear gold w/ 1f white head; quick recession
N soft-med aroma of crackery malt and light indiscernible fruitiness
T follows nose; a mellow profile of fruitiness and crackery malt; fruitiness is tough to discern as citrus, though (missing both candied elements and citrusy bite); finishes with grassy hops, light buttery notes, and a light bitterness; not too shabby, I suppose; a touch of definable citrus comes out in aftertaste
Mf light-med bodied w/ med to med-high carb; a bit coating
O decent flavor for the style (although it's definitely lacking some of the citrusy elements); decent drinkability as well; not bad- would drink again, but wouldn't necessarily seek out

the first i have had from these guys, or really even heard of them, its a fine beer, summery as can be, light but a little sweet, maybe a touch cheap tasting to me, but its not inauthentic on the fruit, and it drinks like a pale ale rather than a blonde, with some decent grain character in the taste and even a bit of hops on the back end, some bitterness there, possibly from the orange, but it works in the same way. definite honey notes to this, floral and springy and sweet up front, with the clean citrus character coming on about midway through, a little basic, but i like that i can still taste the grain, the blood orange doesnt overtake the rest of it. some slight metallic element there on the finish, but the lingering sweetness covers it up pretty quickly, and this finishes with good balance and the breezy citrus in front of anything else. carbonation is right there, and the little bit of sweetness at the end isnt too much, it highlights the fruit well. overall nothing out of the ordinary here, but a wide appeal sort of summery fruit beer thats not just fruit juice. good with spicy chicken wings too!

L: poured a perfect yellow/amber in a pint glass. 1/4” head that dissipated within a minute. But it left legs on the glas that lasted the whole beer
S: no detectable smell even thought this was a blood orange i thought i would pick up some citrus notes
T: i am not a pale ale fan but this is one of my new favorites. A clean ale with a nice citrus flavor that isn’t overpowering
F: great flavor and does not have a lingering taste.

O: overall a great pale with subtle citrus notes. Drinking in March but would be great in the warm months

Poured from a can into a pint glass
Appearance - The beer pours a clear amber color with a tiny fizzy white head of foam. The head fades rather fast leaving just a trace of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell - The aroma of the brew is heaviest of a wheaty smell mixed with some aromas of orange. With a little bit of caramel and a touch of grass, one is left with subtle, but pleasant aroma overall.
Taste - The taste begins with a nice bready and slightly wheaty taste that has a little bit of a orange and caramel sweetness right upfront. As the taste advances some other lighter flavors of more fruit and a little bit more grain come to the tongue and leave on with a somewhat malty and fruity taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel - The body of the brew is thicker in terms its body and is on the higher side in terms of carbonation. Its alright overall and fits the flavors of the brew rather well.
Overall - A nice and easy drinking brew overall with a nice flavor. Nothing super extra ordinary, but good overall.
