Venus is our base milk stout with cold steeped dark grains. However… we wanted to have some fun with cookies! The base beer is almost lost in the flavor of Nutter Butter Cookies and exploding with graham cracker like notes, hints of chocolate and a sweet milk finish.

Look: Not much head on this brew. Poured pitch black with a thin head that was gone in sixty seconds. Left a thin ring but some how the lace is sticky and foamy.
Smell and Taste: Can't quite put my finger on it. So I'm gonna take guess . . . Vanilla and Hazelnut Nutella, might even be some peanut butter (which I'm not crazy about. Sweet but not overpowering.
Feel: Somewhat oily, which I expected by the characteristics on the lace.
Overall: It's alright. I just don't care for peanut butter(?) anywhere but on a saltine or a slice of bread.

Solid black with a tall dark tan spongy foam.
I wasn't too big a fan of this, as it was a little sharp and acidic like some lesser stouts are wont to be. Peanut butter was mildly in the background.

On tap at Mortalis Brewing Co in Avon, NY.
This one pours a fairly dark black color, with a small foamy head, and lots of lacing.
This smells great- there's lots of rich and chocolatey peanut butter, with hazelnut, roasted malt, and a hint of vanilla.
This has such a killer creamy flavor to it, lactose and vanilla type flavors, with a super authentic chocolate peanut butter character to it. A lot of peanut butter beers can kind of have a weird oiliness to them. Luckily, this has none of that going on.
This is creamy, and deceptively big bodied for the slightly lower ABV. It's really drinkable and really a treat to drink.
The idea of putting cookies into a beer doesn't seem like something that's up my alley at first glance. However, Mortalis did it right here, as it still tastes like a beer, with great peanut butter character laced through.
