On tap at Mortalis Brewing in Avon, NY.
This one pours a nice purplish vivid color, with a small head and lots of lacing.
This one smells mostly like sour boysenberry, with a touch of black currant and a lot of acidity on the nose.
The sourness level is probably the highest I’ve gotten from a Mortalis beer, but the fruit expression is just crazy here, both come through strongly, with definitely more boysenberry. You don’t get any hop character or any of the base, but that is not surprising considering the amount of fruit they had to use here.
This is light bodied, crisp and with a long lingering acidity on the finish. It’s very drinkable.
This is another fairly absurd beer from these guys. Keep me coming!
