This imperial stout showcases hand scraped Madagascar vanilla beans, cold steeped locally roasted coffee, Dominican cocoa nibs, and dried Ancho chile peppers. It tastes of chocolate, spice and has a thick mouthfeel to match such bold flavors. Forget not your coin when crossing this river

On tap at Mortalis Brewing Co in Avon, NY.

This one pours a very dark black color, with a small head, and not much lacing.

This smells like roasty and spicy coffee, with a touch of pepper heat, vanilla, fudgy chocolate, and roasty spice.

This is pretty well balanced - the coffee dominates, like most Mortalis stouts, but it doesn't dominate as thoroughly as it does in most of their stouts. The spice level is perfect, subtle, but definitely there, with some nice sweet vanilla to balance it out. The base stout is obviously quite chocolatey as well.

This is medium bodied, and pretty thick and creamy, with a good level of drinkability.

We have yet another great Mortalis stout here - it's truly their greatest strength.
