Poured a jet-black body with pinky-finger khaki head that was lively but quickly died. Notes of chocolate and wood in the aroma with just a hint of booze and vanilla. Tasted like a chocolate fudge brownie with some vanilla and a touch of booze on finish for a little heat as well. Booze is not overwhelming at all in this thick-bodied slow-sipper, and this is a beer that doesn't make trouble for you as long as you take it nice and easy.

The tall uniformly dense tan head builds over a solid black body.
A softly sharp nuttiness comes with a little bit of heat as baker's chocolate and warm vanilla glide into a hot dry finish bringing out graham and pudding.

On tap at Mortalis Brewing in Avon, NY.
This one pours a very dark black color, with a small head and not much lacing.
This smells big and fudgy, with white chocolate frosting, nuttiness, and vanilla.
This is the usual wonderful pastry craziness from the Mortalis boys. It’s quite chocolatey, and the macadamia adds a sweet (but not too sweet) nuttiness that works extremely well.
This is easily one of the thicker beers that they’ve ever done, and it’s just so creamy - this is so nice to drink.
I haven’t disliked a stout yet from Mortalis, honestly, and I’m not sure I ever will.
