This English Barleywine blends 5 Caramel malts with traditional English hops to produce a complex nectar. We then conditioned this version on Dark Grade maple syrup sourced from Vermont.

This one pours a dark and murky brown color, with a small head, and no lacing.
This smells like dark earthy maple, sticky raisins, honey, caramel, and vanilla.
Maple is a flavor that is obviously going to work well with barleywine, so this was destined to be a winner. It's very smooth, with honey and caramel all over the place, and a very well integrated dark grade maple flavor. It's not boozy at all - it's so creamy and smooth.
This is creamy and sticky, and slightly syrupy (duh), with a decent level of drinkability.
This is slightly outside of Mortalis' usual comfort zones of pastry stouts/fruited sours/hazy IPAs, but it's still done with their usual level of decadent quality.
