On tap at Mortalis Brewing in Avon, NY.
This one pours a golden hazy orange color, with a small head, and a bit of lacing.
This smells gret - sweet breadiness/cakiness, caramelized pineapple puree, orange, citrus, a touch of pine, and vanilla.
Like most of Mortalis' dessert beers, this works really well. It does approximate cake, with a really pleasant sweet breadiness, and loads of sweet (but not too sweet) pineapple. It's just a touch bitter, with clean pine, and there's a great creamy flavor from the vanilla and milk sugar. I don't really get any cherry flavor, but that's ok.
This is creamy and rich, with a great drinkability, and a nice smooth finish.
This is definitely one of the better entries in this series - some of my favorite milkshake IPAs, and some of the only ones I actually enjoy.
