This imperial stout showcases cold steeped dark grains, Dominican cacao nibs, large dose of espresso coffee, three different types of vanilla beans, almonds and milk sugar. The flavors blend together to create a thick, decadent dark chocolate dessert.

Pastry sweet chocolate. On tap at Bottled and Brewed. Still pretty good for a milkshake.

This stout is incredibly sweet! Overall good milk stout but definitely in the low totem pole of the Mortalis stouts I’ve tried. Worth a try and respectable stout but won’t be. I ting this again.

Tar black with a slow to build espresso head that recedes to a thin but curled and persistent collar.

This exhibits some of that ultra sweet marshmallow sort of character that Horus gets, but without the acrid cloy, at least. This mitigating factor is likely owing to the mildly balancing cigar skin far in the background, and perhaps the added almond.

The chocolatey body is moderately viscous yet crisp, surprisingly not finishing sticky, but semi-dry and tingly.

On tap at Mortalis Brewing Co in Avon, NY.

This one pours a pretty significantly dark black color, with a small head, and a little bit of lacing.

This smells like vanilla coffee creamer, almond, chocolate milk, very light roast, some spice, and sweet coffee.

I had heard this was a bit more bitter than some Mortalis stouts, but that doesn't really seem to be true here. It's pretty sweet, with the almond and vanilla kind of creating a flavored coffee sort of thing going here. There's a touch of roast from the coffee, but it's mostly dessert-like flavors along the way here.

This is medium bodied, creamy, and rich, with a pretty good drinkability, despite the ABV. It's not boozy at all, like basically all of their stouts.
