This Sour blends together pineapple, pink guava, peach, and toasted coconut to an explosion of fruit flavors. A thick smoothie fitting for this King of Monsters.

I have absolutely no idea what to call this color. Yellowish copper? Muddy orange? It is opaque and milky to be sure. One inch of frothy head is lighter in shade, but the same color nonetheless. The head drops at the speed of pre-global-warming glaciers. A thick, mucky slime of mud defiles the IIPA glass after each sip and simply doesn't go away.
For those who like coconut, this one is for you. The coconut grabs the nose from a distance. While coconut milk dominates, guava and papaya are strong secondary notes. There may even be some pineapple as the nose acclimates to the tropical onslaught.
The flavor opens with papaya and guava, leading to strong coconut. This trio carries long into a mild finish. The sweetness is surprisingly modest despite the utter lack of bitterness.
The dense body has a texture similar to whipped cream. It is tempting to stand a spoon in it. The texture is accompanied by fine grain, probably contributed by the graham crackers. Alcohol is as expected, and carbonation is slightly prickly as it vainly attempts to escape the dense murk.
As far as smoothy beers are concerned, this one is top notch. One would never even consider pairing this with cheese, However: maybe something rather savory from the charcuterie board might work.

Guava is not a super common fruit in these “Smoothie Sours” so I think they’re generally worth a shot for doing something different, even if it isn’t the main component. I’ve been drinking a lot more from Mortalis lately thanks to Tavour and it’s mostly all been great. Let’s crack this open and see if it lives up to the others
Pours an opaque pinkish brown with a finger of pinkish orange head that fades to a cap and leaves decent lacing. Some sediment floating about and it kinda looks like puke
Well, I guess I was wrong, because the guava is extremely strong in the nose. I’m picking up on aromas of earthy guava, orange juice, pineapple, lemon juice, raw coconut, brown sugar, bready malt, and jammy apricot
In taste it’s a bit too sweet and hardly beer-like, more like a Smooj without the charm. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting pineapple juice, coconut cream, orange juice, vanilla, earthy guava, and peach rings. The swallow brings notes of orange juice, coconut cream, earthy guava, vanilla, orange juice, pineapple juice, and light lemon zest
A medium full body pairs with gentle carbonation, resulting in a rich and slick beer. Finishes sticky and lightly tart
Well it’s certainly not my favorite, but I wouldn’t call it bad. Just a bit more tartness would work wonders for this one

16oz. can into a Side Project snifter.
This one pours more like a fruit smoothie/float than a beer. Thick, almost chunky with a chunky head and thick lace that looks more like fruit puree. Aroma is exactly as advertised. Guava, pineapple, coconut, and peach. There's a creaminess here too that reminds me of vanilla. Beer opens fresh pineapple and guava. I get an overripe peach sweetness in the middle with sprinkles of coconut flecks. More pineapple puree in the middle and end as well. Like a pina colada blended with other tropical fruits. Delicious. This one drinks like a meal in a glass. Rich body with moderate carbonation. Filling but I can't help but go back for more. Messy finish and aftertaste.
This is a beer I don't want to like. But the fruit flavor is incredible and if you're a fan of fruit smoothies, you owe it to yourself to try this series from Mortalis.

This one pours an absurdly thick orange color, with that classic bubbling/still fermenting head, and sheets of lacing/fruit residue.
This smells like everything the description says is in it - the coconut cuts through nicely and adds a little flair to the usual fruit bomb.
This is probably the thickest and most ridiculous take on this hyper-fruited "style" that I've had so far. It's possibly even thicker than the beers in their Hydra series, which I didn't think was possible. The coconut does push it over the edge of the original Typhon. I'd say I get guava most of the various fruits, but they all kind of meld together into a massive froot beast.
This is super thick, basically not liquid, an actual meal in the glass. There are chunks of fruit and coconut in here, it's ridiculous.
You can argue whether or not this is beer (it kind of isn't) but you can't argue that it isn't delicious. I can't drink much more than a can at a time, but I certainly enjoy it.
