This Imperial Stout is the beer we brewed in support of the Black is Beautiful collaborative effort created by Weathered Souls Brewing to help raise awareness of the injustices people of color face daily and raise funds to support local organizations that support police brutality reform and legal defenses for those who have been wronged. We have conditioned the base stout on vanilla, maple, walnuts, and cacao nibs.

Appearance - dark mahogany body with faint tan head
Smell - brown sugar, candied walnuts
Taste - very sweet, maple, brown sugar, ginger
Mouthfeel - very very sweet upfront, maple, brown sugar, medium bodied, low level of carbonation
Overall - very sweet and unbalanced stout, aroma was off-putting, could use more "roast", too sweet for me to want to re-visit.

This one pours a dark black color, with a small head, and not much lacing.
This smells mostly like sweet light grade maple and candied walnuts. There's a bit of vanilla sweetness and milk chocolate fudge as well.
I'd want a bit more roast here, but it's still delicious. The maple and walnut alternate dominance, as far as the adjuncts go, adding a sweet and silky character to the beer. There's also some caramel/molasses type flavors, along with a touch of vanilla, and a milk chocolate background.
This is medium bodied, silky and creamy, with a lower level of carbonation.
I'm really glad that my favorite local brewery decided to participate in this excellent initiative.
