This Imperial Stout was aged for 13 months in Maker's Mark barrels. After emptying the barrels, we blended the stout with our barrel aged Barleywine, Bacchus. The blend lends layers of dark chocolate covered cherries, raisins, oak, and vanilla.

This one pours a dark black-ish brown color, with a very small and quickly diminishing head, and not much lacing at all. It looks pretty much uncarbonated.
There's a lot of barrel on the nose here - caramel, spice, oak, etc, with silky milk chocolate, and some toffee.
There's absolutely a lack of carbonation here, keeping it soft, but unfortunately a little bit flat on the back end. The barrel here is really killer and bold, though. There's spice, bourbon, oak, and vanilla, with caramel, and toffee as well. It definitely feels bigger on the stout end, rather than barleywine end.
This is medium bodied, and very silky, with little to no carbonation. It's a pretty slow sipper.
I like both Ophion (I think that's the stout component here, or close to it) and Bacchus better than this, but it's still a fun beer to try.
