This Imperial Stout showcases one of our favorite baked treats, coffee cake! The rich chocolaty base was aged 13 months in a Willet Rye barrel and then conditioned on loads of fresh locally baked cinnamon swirl coffee cakes. Pair with your favorite cup of Joe.

This one pours a fairly dark black color, with a small head, and a little bit of lacing.
This smells like candied sweet cinnamon, oak, caramel, vanilla, and chocolate fudge.
I wish there was a bit more barrel to this one, but it's still a pretty delicious and decadent beer. I do get some oak and vanilla - maybe that's from the barrel? I don't always like cinnamon in beers, but it's well done here - as the rolls add a bready and just slightly spicy sweetness, rather than just pure dry spiciness. There's lots of fudgy dark chocolate as well as sweet chocolate syrup. This is definitely a pretty sweet beer, but in an appropriate sized pour, this really does hit the spot for ridiculous pastry.
This is thick, creamy, and with no real booziness to it. It's surprisingly drinkable for the style, even with the sweetness.
Mortalis stouts tend to run on the sweet side, and this doesn't shy away from that norm, but it's still a very tasty and very decadent stout.
