This Imperial Coffee Stout is brewed in collaboration with Prison City Pub and Brewery. We have blended our base As Above recipe with Prison City's Wham Whams recipe and conditioned the beer on a fan favorite coffee, toasted coconut, and Tahitian vanilla. A smooth body is met with a barrage of coffee, coconut, rum, pecans, creamy vanilla, and dark chocolate.

From Beer Drop, no dating on the can.
Pours, I don't see any other hues, a pitch black with a small head of tan foam. Despite that, retention and lacing are decent.
The smell is coconut, vanilla, coconut, coffee, and chocolate.
The taste is coconut, coffee, coconut, vanilla, chocolate, almost a maple syrup like sweetness. I need to get used to that to rate properly.
Full bodied, it really coats my tongue, somewhat boozy, I would drink this again. I have another can.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a dark brown foamy head with some retention and some lacing notes. Aroma of chocolate notes with some vanilla and coconut notes and some nice floral coffee. Taste is also a mix of chocolate malt notes with some coconut and vanilla notes with some sweet floral coffee notes. Body is about average with good carbonation with no discernible alcohol notes. NIce pastry stout that would benefit from a fuller body.

Beautiful pour. Rich, heavy, deep brown. Great head. Lighter brown, not too big of a head, but clingy.
Roasted nuts. Comes through loud and clear.
Delicious. Silky smooth, excellent flavor. I can't make out the individual notes but nutty, and overall outstanding.

16 ounce can, looks like the stamp says canned 6/7/23. Big thanks to Brutaltruth for this one! Served in a snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch or so tan head. Head retention and lacing are both pretty good. I like the aroma, the brew smells like vanilla, coconut, coffee, roasted malt and chocolate. I think the taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also some dark bread, earthy and burnt/charred malt flavors noticeable too. Leans sweet tasting but not overwhelmingly so, and to me no one flavor overpowers the others. Mouthfeel/body is full, it's rich and slick with a moderate amount of carbonation. I thought this was a pretty good overall imperial stout, definitely worth trying especially if you like ones that are a little sweeter tasting.

From the 16 oz can in a snifter. This monster pours a coal black with a nice head of
light brown foam that settles to a thick ring, thin clumping layer, and sports some
nice light lacing. Nose of dark rich coffee, dark chocolate, vanilla, brulee, and toasted
coconut. Flavors nail it! Coffee, dark chocolate, toasted coconut, brulee, vanilla,
moderate char, deep roasted malts, nutty malts, touch of smoke, and tobacco
layered with dark berry notes. Mouth feel is full, smooth, rich, coating, lightly warming,
light carbonation, and a sweet roasted malt finish.
A dessert brew with nice balance.
SUPERB!
Cheers

Aroma is coffee, chocolate, dark malts and big coconut. The flavor is fruit/dark fruit, coffee, dark malts and a mildly sweet chocolate/acidic/slightly stinging alcoholic finish.

poured from a 16oz glass into a TG DBA tumbler. pours a thick, oily black with a finger of dark brown foam head that dissipates into a thin collar around the rim of the glass. big chocolate and vanilla on the nose with a slight roasted malt / coffee aroma. taste offers a huge kick of chocolate with vanilla and roast in the background. not sure i really get a lot of coffee but either way it is good. not too sweet but it’s definitely more chocolate and vanilla than coffee. thick, full mouthfeel. lower carbonation. good stuff.
