This Imperial Stout is the beer we brewed in support of the Black is Beautiful collaborative effort created by Weathered Souls Brewing to help raise awareness of the injustices people of color face daily and raise funds to support local organizations that support police brutality reform and legal defenses for those who have been wronged. We have aged the beer 12 months in a Willet barrel and then conditioned it vanilla, maple, walnuts, and cacao nibs.

This one pours a black-ish/muddy brown color, with a small head, and not much lacing.
This smells like bourbon vanilla, sweet nuttiness, flavored coffee, sweet dark maple, oak, and roasted malt.
This is a nice update to an already good beer. There's a nice barrel character here - nothing overwhelming, as there's lots of sweet components to play against it. The maple, walnut, and roast together are delicious and give off a flavored coffee sort of vibe, almost like the Jamaican Me Crazy coffee that's in As Above So Below.
This is thick, chewy, with no real booziness to it. It's definitely sweet, but not cloying.
Despite the look of this being semi-not appealing, the taste is wonderful, and the cause is worthy.
