This Fruited Sour was brewed in collaboration with Horus Aged Ales. It blends Mango, Passionfruit, Raspberry, and Marshmallow together to form just one of this monster’s many heads. Keep your eyes peeled for even more flavor combinations.

God damn they're good at these.
Raspberries dominate, in the background are peach, mango, and marshmallow. Mostly sweet but with enough tartness to maintain balance. Damn good.

Drank from a 1 pint / 16 fl. oz. can purchased at Fort Point Market, Boston, MA

Served in a tulip
The beer poured a super thick and completely opaque, millennial pink hue. Tiny white particles could be seen floating throughout the liquid. There was no head and zero lacing. As the liquid receded, a wall of sediment coated the glass and stuck around until the drink’s end.
The aroma was outstanding. Raspberry came through strongest. Loads of vanilla as well. This was likely from the marshmallow. Perhaps some strawberry and banana too. Mango notes were also detectable. Overall, quite sweet, thought not excessively so. Hint of tartness.
The flavor profile was also fantastic. Raspberry again was most prominent. Like in the nose, I though I picked up some strawberry and banana too. Nice balance of sweet and tart. Vanilla came through in the center. Passionfruit notes appeared as the beer moved along the palate. There was no mango however. More raspberry and tartness on the back end and the finish.
Excellent rich, gloppy, full bodied mouthfeel. The beer contained a ton of pulpy fruit and was very reminiscent of a fruit smoothie. A fine, subtle yet prickly effervescence gave the liquid just enough zip to remind me that this was technically a beer.
Mortalis’s fruited sours are always amazing, and Hydra Hawk was one of their best offerings yet. Even by this brewery’s standards, the adjuncts in this beer were really intense.

Super smooth, sweet, tart, musky, earthy. Pretty dang unique, I’m digging trying the different variations these guys are putting out. This particular brew reminds me of canned peaches that have begun fermentation. I m glad I tried it, I might revisit I. The future

On tap at Mortalis Brewing in Avon, NY.
This one pours a reddish/orange-ish/pinkish color, looking as gloopy as this series always does, with a small head, and tons of lacing.
The marshmallow definitely adds a pleasant creamy smoothness to this one. There's lots of mango and passionfruit, but surprisingly not a whole lot of raspberry - that's usually a pretty dominant fruit flavor in these sorts of things.
This is super creamy, and very thick, but not quite as ridiculously smoothie-like and syrupy as some of the Hydras can get - maybe that's the marshmallow smoothing things over a little bit?
Although I don't always seek these sorts of beer now (or honestly, ever), this is an enjoyable take on the style.
