This Fruited Sour was brewed in collaboration with Corporate Ladder Brewing Company. For our first release in the Woodland Series, we took our Hydra base and aged it in Appleton Rum barrels. After aging, the beer was conditioned on Banana, Pineapple, Blackberry, Brandy-Soaked Cherries, and Orange puree. The result is a frooted smoothie version of a classic cocktail, Rum Runner.

This one pours a very gloopy looking light pale orange color, with a small head, and sticky gloopy lacing down the glass.
This smells like maraschino cherry, banana, candied orange, sticky pineapple, rum, oak, and citrus.
This definitely feels like a melted frozen cocktail or something like that. It's definitely nailed in that regard, but it's also kind of not made for people like me. The barrel character is an interesting twist on the usual smoothie style thing, and that added booziness does help keep this from being too thick, too fruity, etc.
This is medium bodied, thick, creamy, and super fruity, with a decent drinkability, and a little bit of booziness.
This is a very interesting new series from Mortalis, and it's definitely executed well. I can recognize that, even though I know it's not really and completely my thing.
