This Double IPA is brewed in celebration of the Naples, NY Grape Festival. We combined two of our favorite hops, Nelson and Galaxy, then conditioned the beer on fresh white Niagara grape juice. The combination brings forth aromas of juicy gooseberries, sweet ripe grapes, and peaches lending to a balanced depth of flavor and finish.

Canning date obstructed

I’ve had quite a few beers from Mortalis at this point, and not a single one hasn’t been a Fruited Kettle Sour. Seeing this one on Tavour intrigued me quite a bit. Even though it’s still a fruited beer, this feels like a departure for them, or at least my understanding of them. Let’s crack it open and see what it’s all about

Pours an opaque milky yellow with 3 fingers of soapy off white head that slowly fades to a thin cap and leaves minimal lacing

The nose is very vibrant, the white grapes here further highlight the Nelson hop notes. I’m picking up on aromas of white grape, lime zest, tannic white wine, pineapple juice, bready malt, grassy hops, and peach rings

It doesn’t have quite the same immediacy in taste, and there is a slight hop burn, but it’s still very good. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting tannic white wine, bready malt, lime zest, earthy hops, white pineapple, grass, light weed, and lemon zest. The swallow brings notes of lime zest, white grape, crackery malt, lemon zest, earthy hops, white pepper, pineapple juice, and light weed

A light medium body pairs with gentle tingling carbonation, resulting in a crisp beer. Finishes bone dry with a bit of hop burn but it doesn’t hurt it

This is very good. I wish the taste could’ve kept up a bit more with the aroma, but I hardly have any complaints

This one pours a hazy golden yellow color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.

This smells like melon, white grape, gooseberry, passionfruit, orange, and grapefruit.

This is exceptional stuff, and one of the best IPAs I've had so far from Mortalis. It reminds me of Trillium Dialed In from back in the day. The white grape juice melds very well with the citrusy and tropical hop character from Nelson and Galaxy. There's passionfruit and gooseberry type flavors, with melon, orange, grapefruit, and mango, and a touch of bitterness.

This is light bodied, clean, creamy, and very drinkable.

White grape juice tends to go very well with hazy IPAs, and this is a great marriage of the two here by Mortalis.
