From a 16oz can with an illegible date stamp. Served in a spiegelau IPA glass.
Pours a turbid, dull and dark orange with two fingers of lathery, cream-colored head. Retention is decent, leaving bands of thick and sticky lacing.
Nose is malty and grainy overlaid with a candy-like fruitiness. Smelling orange and pineapple.
Taste is a little sour, grainy and composty, like old juice and composting orange and grapefruit rinds. Tasting black tea, with tannic bark and twigs, and a harsh tree leaf-like bitterness.
Feel is sharp and drying, medium-plus bodied with zesty carbonation.
Overall, a mixed bag for me. Drinkable for sure but nothing to seek out.
