This Coffee Stout was brewed to highlight adjuncts produced in Western NY. The full bodied base stout was treated with extra dark robust maple syrup and Columbia Hulia coffee beans roasted by Fuego Coffee.

Dark brown pour with a light head. The smell is very coffee forward, and the taste is coffee and maple syrup. Good, but it is too sweet for my tastes.

This 16 oz. can is only my second stout from Mortalis & it cannot – cannot – compare to the brilliance of the first.
Black stout. The nose is very roasty, perhaps coffee, & sweet. Matches the description…
Adonis is sweet. Maple syrup holds most of the cards here & it’s as sweet as the nose promises. The coffee is an earthy, roasty afterthought, dying in the arms of my love. Chocolate, vanilla play hide & seek & the thick mouthfeel has echoes of lactose. This has long-session-next-to-fireplace written all over it.
The coffee being a touch more assertive would have tamped down the (still wonderful) maple & kicked this up another notch. Very, very good brew

A - Pours midnight black with a fizzy tan head. The head fades extremely fast leaving some light oily lacing.
S - Aroma is huge black coffee, roasted malts and maple.
T - The taste is on point. Black coffee, dark chocolate, maple syrup, vanilla and dark roasted malts.
M - Full bodied with medium carbonation. Chewy mouthfeel with a a crisp dry finish.
O - Really dug this. The maple adds a nice sweetness to the dark toasty flavors.

16oz can. Stamped on can bottom is canning date of '12/13/22'.
Cola brown/black colored body. No back lit edge. Brief brown fizzy head. Minor surface storm. No lacing.
Aroma is roasted malts overlaid with coffee, chocolate, vanilla, and maple syrup. There is a real vanilla cola aroma.
Taste is very sweet, with flavors from the roasted malts along with coffee, chocolate, maple syrup, and vanilla. Chocolate, coffee, and vanilla in the aftertaste.
Thicker than medium mouth feel. Slickness and syrup. Supportive carbonation.
Has a vanilla cola vibe thickened with maple syrup. Hides the higher ABV% well.
