This is quite the combination of fruits and other adjuncts, but it sounds like one that will actually work quite well. Another one from Tavour as most of my Mortalis beers are, but surprisingly only my second of the Hydra series which seems to be their most popular. Let’s dig in
Pours an opaque deep purple with 2 fingers of slow forming reddish purple head that slowly fades to a cap and leaves decent lacing. Always surprising when one of these actually has head retention
The nose is just insane, a straight up smoothie but a really good one. I’m picking up on aromas of tart blackberry, juicy strawberry, lemon juice, sweet coconut, shortbread cookies, vanilla, light orange juice, and raspberry
It goes into a sweeter realm in taste, but is still highly enjoyable. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting juicy strawberry, jammy blackberry, graham cracker, lemon juice, shortbread cookie, orange juice, and light marshmallow. The swallow brings notes of blackberry sorbet, juicy strawberry, shortbread cookie, vanilla, lemon juice, sweet coconut, orange juice, and light raspberry
A medium full body pairs with gentle tingling carbonation, resulting in a rich beer. Finishes surprisingly dry with a nice balance
This one is up there with their best. If it had just a touch more tartness in taste it would be their best
