This variant of Hydra seems like it could be an actual fruit juice as opposed to most of the others I’ve had which kinda just throw random fruits together. This process tends to work pretty well from them, but I also welcome this more “traditional” approach to it. Let’s dive in
Pours an opaque milky orange with a finger of whitish orange head that fades to a thin ring and leaves minimal lacing. Lots of chunks floating in this one
I’m getting the 3 component fruits in the nose but not much else. I’m picking up on aromas of tangerine juice, underripe banana, strawberry sorbet, lemon juice, light dough, and vanilla
I know that these aren’t ever really complex per se, but this has got to be the most straightforward one I’ve had so far. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting juicy strawberry, overripe banana, vanilla ice cream, tangerine juice, and light lemon zest. The swallow brings notes of orange juice, juicy strawberry, overripe banana, lemon juice, and light vanilla
A medium full body pairs with gentle tingling carbonation, resulting in a smooth and slick beer. Finishes quite sticky
I don’t mind the fact that it’s simplistic, but the mouthfeel on this one is holding it back a bit for me. Oh well
