This Imperial stout is our longest aged stout that we have released. Our 5th year anniversary beer started its journey in a Willet Rye barrel for 22 months before being transferred to a 6 year Willet Family Estate Rye barrel for an additional 18 months. The double barrel stout has been blended with a 16 month aged 10 year Willet Family Estate bourbon barrel. This adjunct free stout is our expression of dark beer and oak in its most basic form. A silky oily body meets bakers chocolate, hints of cherry, creamy vanilla, and fudge.

This one pours a very, very dark black color, with a pretty small head, and not much lacing.
This smells ridiculously fudgy, with charred oak, marshmallow, creamy vanilla, caramel, cedar, rye spice, and black cherry.
This might just be the best Mortalis stout that I’ve had yet. There is just so much barrel here, delicious, caramelly, ton of vanilla, and lots of oaky and spicy goodness. There’s tons of fudgy dark chocolate as well, with maple, roasted malt, and a deep coffee-like note.
This is very thick, creamy, and with no real booziness at all.
This is ridiculously delicious barrel decadence.
