This Fruited Smoothie Sour was brewed in collaboration with Ill Will Brewing. It blends cantaloupe, banana, pineapple, and pistachio together to form just one of this monster’s many heads.

These are always a lot of fun. Banana & cantaloupe really come through. Sweet, thick but not overly heavy. Good carbonation to cut the smoothie feel. Fresh, tart pineapple throughout really helps balance the whole experience.

Poured from a pint can, the body oozes out and is a cantaloupe orange. Neither head nor lacing.

Aroma is cantaloupe and banana. Taste follows nose. The fruit flavor adds a bit of pineapple which works well with the other flavors. With all the fruit flavors present, the flavor is not too sweet. There is no bitterness, so things dry up at finish with a trace of sour at the end.

Mouthfeel is smooth, a bit heavy, and no carbonation.

If the ratings went higher, this would be a 10/5. The color is an inviting mellow yellow, with a nitrogen-esque cascade of variances. The aroma is unbelievably fragrant. The melon is so absolutely fresh. The flavor is perhaps the best fruited sour I ever tasted. The cantaloupe dominates, backed by a lavish creaminess from the banana. The pineapple gives a slight cleansing effect to the rear, not distractingly acidic at all, giving an almost honeydew effect when paired with the cantaloupe and banana. Alcohol is nowhere to be found. Hostility is anything but hostile. It’s sweet, creamy, inviting, purely phenomenal. The only hostility that arises is that from knowing I only have one can, and want to buy cases more. Cases. No joke. This and the Mind Flayer are brilliant brewery works of art.

2024 update: I bought a case of the new batch. OMG. Every bit as delicious as batch 1. This is truly special stuff in a can.
