This Double IPA is part of our exploration series. Too often, we become complacent and forget to push the boundaries and search the unending hop combinations to find a stroke of genius. Time to get back to class! This version features Freestyle Nelson and large dose of Yakima HBC 630.

On tap at the Richmond in Rochester, NY.
This one pours a very hazy golden yellow color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells very juicy, with pineapple, mango, white grape, passionfruit, and a bit of herbal character.
I don’t have a lot of experience with beers that have HBC 630, but Nelson hops are always a favorite, and this provides the requisite sticky juiciness and that pleasant little white wine vibe – peach, grape, what have you. There’s a touch of soft bitterness on the palate, too – floral and herbal.
This is pretty juicy and creamy, with a good drinkability.
This had a fun little combo of hops and was executed well.
