This Fruited Sour blends strawberry, Sicilian lemon, milk sugar, and pistachios together to form just one of this monster’s many heads. Keep your eyes peeled for even more flavor combinations.

I like when Mortalis uses non-fruit adjuncts. Pistachio is a rather interesting choice for an adjunct, I’m not sure I’ve seen any brewery do that before, in any beer style, but I think it’ll work well with the strawberry and lemon. Let’s crack it open and find out
Pours an opaque pale pukey pink with a finger of pinkish orange head that quickly fades to a thin cap and leaves minimal lacing
The nose is simple, but there’s a very bright tartness that drives it. I’m picking up on aromas of strawberry ice cream, lemon juice, vanilla yogurt, orange juice, pistachio, and light brown sugar
It doesn’t have quite the same punch in taste, but this is still very good. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting strawberry ice cream, lemon zest, vanilla bean, brown sugar, bready malt, light pistachio, and caramel. The swallow brings notes of lemon juice, pistachio, dehydrated strawberry, raw grain, light honey, and vanilla yogurt
A medium body pairs with gentle tingling carbonation, resulting in a tart beer. Finishes mostly dry and nicely balanced
This one is super fun. I’m glad there’s a real tartness to it

Poured into a pint class from a 16oz tallboy with a canning date of 1/30/24. With an opaque orange-pink hue, a velvety smooth mouthfeel, and a nose I can’t quite put my finger on, this is a nice example of the heavily fruited sour ale style. Mortalis did it again!
